I realized today that I missed Carl. Yes, he's still in Austin, but not for long--and I hadn't seen him for 5 days. Soon (in a little over a month) he's headed off to the Air Force... and actually less than a month (closer to three weeks) he's leaving Austin and going to Dallas for a couple of weeks. Thinking about him leaving made me really sad... so I asked him to dinner tonight. We met at the Madam Mam's on Anderson and had a BALL. It was kind of funny though... before he got there, I sat and thought to myself, "What the hell are we gonna talk about?" I mentioned this to Carl as we were leaving (after not having suffered through any awkwardness at any point during dinner) and he mentioned the Seinfeld episode when Elaine & George try to hang out together without Jerry.
Carl is one of those guys that you just know is a good guy. I think I'll miss that most about him. I was always happy that Thomas had a best friend like Carl--cause you know Carl would never steer him wrong (despite the fact that EVERYONE has been steering CARL in the wrong direction lately... Celebrity crush anyone?) And he's also crazy. CRAZY CARL! And we're all going to miss Crazy Coin Collecting Cowabunga Carl!
